Failing to import 6 cubic images.

I have 6 400x400 images from my 3D software. I have renamed them:

name11.tif - front face
name22.tif - right face
name33.tif - back face
name44.tif - left face
name55.tif - top face
name66.tif - bottom face

as you have previously mentioned, yet dragging any or all of these onto the Panocube file results in the 'not equirectangular input!' message. What am I doing wrong? Or am I mistaken and Panocube needs the images to be edited into a 2:1 format before it can convert them into QTVR?

If so what software can I use to make a equirectangular image?
